Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar announced Sunday, closing of gas stations and charging 3 of gas station owners of "breach of trust", while indicating that 70 arrest warrants had been issued against violators of them.
Abdul-Jabbar said in a speech during his hosting at the parliament , that is attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "There are more than 1,500 gas stations operating according to contracts for the Oil Products Company," noting that "violations occurred, and the sanctions regime was applied to a group of stations, including closing and charging the owners of three of these stations with breach of trust, according to legal articles, against the background of selling derivatives to market traders.
He added that "The last crisis is fabricated, which is the difference between the normal and the standard that allows the agent to take 700,000 liters per day without cost, which is a clear technical violation that was monitored under the supervision of the Integrity Commission and the Financial Supervision Bureau," noting that "there are 70 arrest warrants issued in cooperation with the judiciary against violators from owners of the stations.
