Ministry of Defense announced Wednesday that Minister Juma Inad Saadoun had accepted the invitation he had received from his Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar to participate in the EFES-2022 exercises.
A statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the Minister of Defense, Jumaa Inad Saadoun, received today, in his office at the ministry's headquarters, the Turkish military attaché in Iraq, Colonel Kofet Oxet, and his accompanying delegation," noting that "during the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed."
The statement added that "the Turkish military attaché handed over an invitation from Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar to his Iraqi counterpart Jumaa Inad Saadoun, inviting him to attend the distinguished viewing day within the EFES-2022 maneuvers, which will be held next June of this year," noting that "The Minister welcomed the invitation submitted by his Turkish counterpart, and confirmed that it was accepted."
