Baghdad hosts the Permanent Committee for Arab Media meeting

    Baghdad will host on the (30th – 31st) of the current month, the meetings of the 96th regular session of the Standing Committee for Arab Media and the 14th regular session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers under the patronage of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.
     
    These meetings, which will be held under the presidency of the Republic of Iraq, will witness the participation of member states of this committee, the organizations and unions practicing media tasks, under the auspices of the League of Arab States, and the delegation of the Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Information Ministers headed by Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary-General, Head of the Media and Communication Sector.
     
    The agenda of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media and the Executive Office includes a number of items, including in particular the follow-up to the implementation of the Arab media strategy, at the heart of which is the continuous support of the media and Arab communication networks for the Palestinian cause and occupied Jerusalem, and the preservation of its Arab character and its authentic spiritual and cultural heritage.
     
    The permanent committee will also study the course of the Arab media movement abroad plan in close cooperation with the missions, offices and centers of the Arab League and councils of Arab ambassadors, and the Arab media map for sustainable development 2030, as well as the item on updating the executive plan related to the role of Arab media in spreading the values of tolerance and coexistence and rejecting extremist behaviors, the media and intellectual response to terrorism in all its forms.
     
    A meeting is scheduled to be held on March 29 in Baghdad for the working group charged with preparing the draft tax that is supposed to be applied to major global digital companies, in implementation of the decision of the Council of Arab Information Ministers.
