Commander of Baghdad Operations, Lieutenant-General Ahmed Salim, issued Wednesday five directives to enhance security and stability in the Rusafa.
A statement by the media office of Baghdad operations, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the Baghdad Operations Commander Ahmed Salim, chaired a security conference at the headquarters of the Baghdad operations / Rusafa, in the presence of the Major General, the headquarters' commander, the leaders of the eleventh infantry divisions and the First Division, Federal Police and a number of Staff officers, to discuss the security situation in Rusafa.
The Operations Commander stressed the "necessity to enhance security and stability in the area, reduce clan conflicts, take maximum deterrence, activate arrest warrants in coordination with police and judicial stations, and activate the intelligence effort to pursue perpetrators of crimes and hold those who fail to perform their duties accountable."
He stressed, "the importance of continuing the duties of search and inspection, confiscation of weapons and unlicensed materiel, and taking firm measures regarding those who carry weapons and shoot for any reason and refer them to investigative bodies in accordance with the terrorism article."
