During his visit to London, The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faiq Zidan, discussed several issues of common interest with several judicial and government authorities in the host country.
"The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Dr. Faiq Zidan, visited the London Mayor's Building with his delegation, where he met with The Mayor of London, Lord Vincent Keaveny, and discussed with him the projects to host the capital London for judicial and legal activities related to business," said a statement from the Supreme Judicial Council, a copy of which was received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) on Tuesday.
"The Royal Institute of International Affairs in London (Chatham House) hosted The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Dr. Faiq Zidan, to participate in a round table discussion session that included a number of experts and specialists in international politics to discuss the role of the judiciary in the recent elections of the parliament and the challenges faced by the judiciary in resolving constitutional cases," the statement added.
"Judge Zidan and his delegation visited the Commercial Court in London, where he met with President Sir Robin Knowles, discussed with him training courses in London for commercial court judges in Iraq and Iraq's participation in the conference on commercial courts to be held in Sydney," the statement said.
