The Security Media Cellidentified the areas where ISIS terrorist gangs are present, noting that the terrorists are moving individually and are unable to be within large groups as a result of the effectiveness of the security effort pursued by the remnants of terrorism.
The head of the Security Media Cell, Major General Saad Maan, told Al-Iraqiya News, and it was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "military operations have been continuing since last Sunday and in various sectors, starting with Diyala, Salah al-Din and Samarra, and today we started in the areas of northern Muqdadiyah in Diyala by the special forces.".
He added, "The operations are carried out by the army units, the Ministry of Interior and the Popular Mobilization, in addition to the great effort by the Air Force, Army Aviation, intelligence agencies in the Ministry of Interior, Military Intelligence, National Security and the cooperation of citizens.".
He continued, "These operations succeeded in reaching the set goals and were reinforced by the field presence of the security leaders, and so far have resulted in the killing of a number of terrorists, the destruction of ISIS hostels and the strengthening of fortifications in the areas of operations.".
He pointed out that "some are trying to make ISIS terrorist gangs bigger than their size. In fact, the current war is a single guerrilla war here and there. The terrorists are present individually and the enemy is trying to have a presence through these gangs in the areas of Khanukah, Mutaibija and Jallab in Salah al-Din, Qara Jogh and the south of Makhmour district in Nineveh, Wadi al-Shay, Zghitun in Kirkuk, and Hawi al-Azeem in Diyala.
He stressed that "ISIS is unable to exist in large groups, and continuous air strikes are being directed against its members wherever they gather."
