Immigration: 240k IQD grant to each family in Sulaymaniyah camps

    The Ministry of Migration and Displacement announced today, Thursday, that the Kurdistan Region camps are equipped with quantities of fuel and foodstuffs, while indicating that an amount of 240,000 Iraqi dinars has been distributed to each family in the Sulaymaniyah camps to purchase oil.

    The ministry's spokesman, Ali Abbas Jahangir, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the fuel distribution mechanism depends on the procedures of the Ministry of Oil and the local authorities in the Kurdistan region, where the Ministry of Oil (the General Company for the Distribution of Oil Derivatives) was urgently addressed, which in turn instructed the local authorities in the governorates of the Kurdistan region responsible for the camps in the region to distribute the fuel, and that the quantities of fuel allocated to the camps of Dohuk governorate are available in the governorate’s warehouses and will be distributed in the coming hours. 

    Jahangir confirmed that "quantities of kerosene designated to operate electric power generators in the camps of Erbil Governorate were distributed today," noting that "quantities of oil that were directed through the Ministry of Immigration will be distributed through the responsible authorities, to the families residing there, during the coming hours. ".

    In addition to that, The official spokesman of the ministry stated that "a week before today, an amount of 240,000 Iraqi dinars was distributed to each displaced family in the camps of Sulaymaniyah Governorate, for the purpose of purchasing oil, as well as distributing 18,000 blankets," noting that "the residents of Mount Sinjar areas in the governorate will be provided Nineveh, with sufficient quantities of fuel, after coordinating with the Ministry of Oil during the next few hours.

    It is noteworthy that all the camps that fall under the authority of the Ministry of Immigration in all governorates, except for the camps of the Kurdistan region, were closed and their residents returned to their original areas voluntarily.
