The Diwaniyah Order Committee issues five recommendations regarding Omicron surge, MOH says

    The Diwaniyah Order Committee (217) issued five recommendations regarding the spread of the omicron mutant.
     
    Ministry of Health-MOH said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “The recommendations of the Diwani Order Committee meeting 217 on the 18th of the current month regarding the measures to be taken due to the current epidemiological situation with the emergence of the Omicron mutated and its surge in more than 100 countries in the world, are:

    Continuing to follow up the daily situation of occupancy  of clinical and intensive care  beds in in the  hospitals and medical centers, as well as the availability of medicines, supplies and supporting analyzes of Covid-19 disease, emphasizing the need to provide medical oxygen and personal protection kits, especially in Corona treatment centers. 

    The need to work on increasing the number of vaccinated to reach community immunity by opening additional vaccination outlets and increasing the actual working hours, as well as intensifying the work of the vaccination teams prevalent in residential areas, governmental and non-governmental departments, schools, institutes, colleges and universities within the geographical area, with the need to develop detailed plans and work schedules for field vaccination teams to visit the same places to give the second dose and to confirm the continuous follow-up to the performance of those vaccination teams and to create a spirit of competition and encourage people to take the vaccine. 
     
    Working with the updated instructions about the period of isolation of those who are infected and the period of quarantine for those in contact with confirmed positive cases of Covid-19, and follow-up their health situation by health centers within the geographical area. 

    Enhancing the health control activities and follow-up on implementing the decisions of the Supreme Committee for National Health and Safety and the decisions of the Council of Ministers with regard to preventive measures and overseeing the public shops, schools, institutes, colleges and universities to adhere to those decisions. 

    Intensifying health awareness for citizens about the seriousness of the current situation and the importance of taking the vaccine as it is the only way to protect them and their families from disease and its complications.
