Baghdad police seizes (5) kg of drugs

Baghdad police seized five kilograms of drugs in one of the checkpoints, the security media cell announced Tuesday.
 
"In a qualitative operation, Baghdad Wasit's checkpoints detachments of the Directorate of checkpoints and External Roads affairs in Baghdad Police Command at the Ministry of Interior's Police Agency arrested an accused in possession of 5 kg of drugs, the cell said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
 
"He was handed over with the seized quantity to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal action against him in accordance with the law," the statement said.
 
The statement pointed out that "the undersecretary of the ministry for police affairs ordered to honor the member of checkpoint who arrested the accused for his attention and sense of security."
