The Office of the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces confirmed, today, Thursday, the need for advisors of the international coalition in 4 areas, and while specifying their locations, it stressed the need for coalition aviation to continue striking the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs.

A spokesman for the Office of the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, told Al-Iraqiya News, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "there are currently no international coalition forces in Iraq that carry out combat missions, and the rest are advisors working to provide advice, support and empowerment in the areas of training, arming and exchanging information.".

He added, "The whereabouts of these advisers will be in the bases of Ain Al-Assad and Harir, with military protection, and determining their numbers is entrusted to the Iraqi military leadership in coordination with the international coalition, and their work is in coordination with the Joint Operations Command.".

He stressed that "the Iraqi forces are able to defend the land and people of Iraq and thank the coalition countries for their efforts during the liberation operations, and it is necessary to invest cooperation in arming and training to fully complete the capabilities of the Iraqi forces.".

He pointed out that "the Iraqi forces need to enhance and complement their capabilities, especially in the fields of air force, air defense, army aviation and the intelligence system.".

He pointed out that "Iraq also needs the international coalition aircraft to carry out strikes against the targets of the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs in some areas, especially the borders with Syria, and we have made great strides in the field of arbitration and fortifying the borders."
