Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Minister Hassan Nazim on Thursday inaugurated an exhibition of artifacts discovered this year, dating back to various periods of the Sumerian and Islamic periods.
"Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Hassan Nazim opened the exhibition of antiquities extracted from archaeological sites in various provinces of Baghdad, Karbala, Najaf, Diwaniyah, Emarah, Nasiriyah and many other cities, including various monuments estimated at 2,000 artifacts for the 2021 season," said The director of media of the Antiquities and Heritage Authority, Hakim Al-Shammari, said.
"The discovery of the sites was carried out through 12 Iraqi and eight foreign missions, which extracted so many artifacts," he said.
"We are proud to work in these sites to provide the halls of the Iraqi Museum with monuments of historical and cultural value," he said, adding that "These artifacts date back to different periods of the Sumerian and Islamic periods.”
