Terrorist cell planning to break in Kirkuk's Tasferat building arrested

A terrorist cell planning to storm the provincial Tasferat building has been arrested, the Kirkuk Intelligence and Security Directorate said Thursday.
 
"In a qualitative operation and a distinctive intelligence effort, as a result of accurate information, the Kirkuk Field Intelligence and Security Directorate detachments of the Directorate General of Intelligence and Security were able to overthrow a terrorist cell of four terrorists who were planning to storm the Kirkuk governorate's Tasferat building," the Defense Ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
 
"The operation was conducted in high coordination between the detachments of the field directorate and the storming force of the provincial police chief and the 8th Iraqi Army Division," the ministry said, adding that "the terrorists admitted that they had conducted reconnaissance tours to gather information about the number of guard towers in the al-Tasfarat building and that they were surprised by the security services.”

"One of the terrorists was providing ISIS terrorist gangs with the names of citizens cooperating with the security forces and the other provided the members of the terrorist gangs with false identification documents that help them move around and hide from the security services," it said.
