The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, confirmed today, Saturday, that the completion of fortifications on the Iraqi-Syrian borders is near, while indicating that 80 percent of these fortifications have been completed.
Major General Rasoul told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "The security services are continuing in arbitrations and fortifying the borders with Syria," stressing that "there is little left, whether it is earth berms, B.R.C fences and thermal watchtowers."
Earlier, the Council of Ministers decided to allocate funds to complete fortifications on the Iraqi-Syrian border.
