PM stresses the need to revitalize the work of coordination committees between army and Peshmerga

     Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi stressed today, Tuesday, the need to continue revitalizing the work of the coordination committees between the army and the Peshmerga, while the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, expressed the region's readiness to coordinate with the Iraqi forces to enhance security and stability. 

     

    A statement by the Presidency of the Region, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi and Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani discussed, in a phone call, the security threats and recent attacks by Daesh terrorist gangs, which affected the positions of the Iraqi security forces and Iraqi citizens, and led to the martyrdom of a number of peshmerga and civilians were wounded. 

     

    Al-Kadhimi affirmed "full support for the Peshmerga's efforts to combat terrorism," stressing "the importance of full coordination between the Iraqi armed forces from the army, the Peshmerga and other security forces, especially in security-free areas between the two parties".
