MOH: Iraq has not entered the fourth wave yet

    The Ministry of Health and the Environment, confirmed on Saturday, not to enter Iraq fourth wave of Coronavirus, indicating that there are two factors help to enter the wave fourth, namely lack of commitment to preventive and to refrain from taking the vaccine procedures, while renewed its call for citizens to take the vaccine to avoid dangerous Fourth wave. 

    The Director-General of the Public Health Department, Dr. Riyad Abdul-Amir, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Iraq has not entered the fourth wave yet," noting that "the increase in the number of injuries is an indication of entering the fourth wave, so the daily infections are still at the same level and did not rise.". 

    He added, "The ministry has the ability to monitor the mutated strains of the Corona virus, and therefore until now Iraq is still on the old strains of Corona." 
    He pointed out that "there are several factors that help to enter the fourth wave, which is not taking the vaccine and not adhering to the preventive measures."   

    He explained that "the immunity of the former infected is short-lived, and the immunity decreases, and a large number of those whose immunity has decreased, in addition to the fact that there are a large number of those who have not been infected so far, so with the presence of the virus and a change in temperature, the virus will activate, and the new wave will occur."
