MOFA: The arrivals from Belarus will not be the last

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed, today, Thursday, that the return trip from Belarus, which arrived in Iraq today, will not be the last. 

    "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has dispatched consular delegations to settle in the Belarusian capital and has explored many geographical locations along the common border extending between Belarus, Lithuania and Latvia, ending in Poland, and we worked to grant laissez-passer Anyone who loses their passport for any reason. 

    He added, "We were able to document 340 Iraqi immigrants at dawn today and gave us more than 70 passports, and the plane that headed to Iraq today carried 430 immigrants and landed in Erbil, carrying citizens in the Kurdistan region, and it will go to Baghdad to pick up the rest.". 

    He stressed that "today's trip will not be the last, and we will continue to register the names of those wishing to return and to grant laissez-passer to those who do not have passports.". 

    Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Transport announced the arrival of the plane returning from Belarus to Erbil Airport. 

    The ministry said in a brief statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the plane of the Iraqis returning from Belarus arrived at Erbil airport after returning from the Belarusian capital, Minsk.". 

    Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that 571 Iraqis had been registered at the Belarusian-Polish border.
    Also the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, said in a statement today, Thursday, and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "430 Iraqi immigrants have been documented traveling to Iraq on the evacuation flight that took off today.". 

    Furthermore, During the statement, Al-Sahaf indicated that "the consular teams residing in Belarus are continuing to register the names of 50 others."
    He added, "The ministry is working hard to provide the highest level of response to the voluntary return, and we are dedicated to the diplomacy of the national response."
