CBI discuss with Egypt joint cooperation on economic issues

Central Bank Governor Mostafa Ghaleb Makheif and Egyptian Ambassador Walid Mohamed Ismail discussed, today, Thursday, joint cooperation in monetary and economic issues.

The media office of the bank said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Mustafa Ghaleb, received the Egyptian ambassador to Iraq, Walid Muhammad Ismail."

He added that "means of joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries in monetary and economic issues were discussed, including stressing the importance of revitalizing Iraqi and Egyptian banking."

For his part, the ambassador stressed that "Egypt is keen for Iraq to have a leading banking sector," praising "the plan adopted by the Central Bank of Iraq's administration to reform the banking sector."
