The Minister of Oil reveals the existence of exploratory patches in the Western Desert

Minister of Oil, Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar, revealed today, Saturday, cooperation with American companies to explore the oil fields in Nasiriyah, while indicating that there are 4 areas under exploration work in Anbar.

Abdul-Jabbar told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the results of the exploration for the Arido field are good," noting that "Lukoil Company requested an extension of the period to obtain greater reserves.".

He added, "The ministry has cooperation with an American company on a batch of patches in Nasiriyah canton," explaining that "indicators expect the presence of large quantities of oil in the canton.".

He pointed out that "the ministry also has work by the Oil Exploration Company in the provinces of Western Desert, west of Anbar, as well as the presence of 4 areas under exploration work."

The minister added that "there is a discussion with international companies in the field of exploration and production in the Western Desert," explaining that "the exploratory work activity of the Ministry of Oil and the National Oil Company is great."

He stressed that "the ministry has partners in the field of exploration, and we aspire to good increases in proven reserves of oil and natural gas."
