INA-Baghdad Former parliament speaker Dr. Saleem al-Jubouri said on Monday that "the parliament had worked together with the executive authority to achieve important laws." During his speech in the initiating session for the fourth term of the Parliament, Jabouri said that despite obstacles that faced the last term, there were achievements should not be denied in the legislative activities as a good number of laws were achieved, including constitutional ones that were not completed during the two preceding parliamentary terms. He affirmed that “Iraq, now, is in need to keep gains of the political process and protect it from deviation so as not to give enemies any opportunity to undermine it”. He stressed on the need for a national consensus to ensure the international community support in our crisis. Jubouri, then called on the eldest MP, Dr. Mohammed Ali Zaini to start the first session of the parliament.
