The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed today, Monday, the need to end the existing crises in the Arab region.
A statement by the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received today at al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, the Algerian Ambassador to Iraq, Abdelkader Bin Shaa'a, on the occasion of the end of his work," noting that "during the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed, and ways to strengthen them in all fields, and activate the work of the Iraqi-Algerian Joint Higher Committee for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples”.
According to the statement, President Salih stressed the need to alleviate tensions in the Arab region, rely on dialogue and convergence to discuss outstanding issues and find solutions to them, and work to end crises in Syria, Yemen and Libya in order to enhance Arab and regional security and stability and stop the human tragedy that the peoples of these countries are exposed to, lauding the ambassador's efforts during his time in Iraq to develop relations between the two countries."
For his part, Ambassador Abdelkader Bin Shaa'a expressed his thanks and appreciation to President Barham Salih and his important role in strengthening the Iraqi role in Arab, regional and international forums, stressing that Algeria stands by Iraq and its efforts to enhance its security and stability.
