The Minister of Youth and Sports, President of the Central Iraqi Football Association, Adnan Darjal, discussed today, Friday, with the President of the International Federation, Gianni Infantino, the file of lifting the ban on Iraqi stadiums and hosting official matches on them.
Media Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Ali Al-Atwani said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Minister of Youth and Sports, Adnan Darjal, who is currently in Qatar to attend the Qatar Emir Cup final between Al-Sadd and Al-Rayyan, held a meeting with the President of the International Federation to resolve the file of Iraq's hosting of international matches." On his land and lifting the ban on Iraqi stadiums, as well as sending an official invitation to visit Basra at the time chosen by the President of the International Federation, with a full explanation of the stadiums and modern sports infrastructure in Iraq, and the desire of the sports fans for the presence of Mr. Infantino in Basra.
He added, "The meeting was characterized by a friendly spirit and the interaction of the President of the International Federation with the legitimate demands of Iraq and his understanding of the importance of lifting the ban on Iraqi stadiums and its positive return to the Iraqi fans, which he described as wonderful."
