
INA - Baghdad Iraqi PM Haider Abadi asserted that the government started to hold the responsible of Basra problems into account regarding providing not-potable water. This has been stated during the meeting that Abadi has made with Crisis Cell in Basra as the attendees included the committee of construction and services, Ataba Hussieniya representative as well as officials from the central and local governments. “Basra is very important and dear to us. It’s not allowed that it gets non-potable water for it is the end of all rivers. Hence, we made strict procedures to send portable water to the province,” Abadi said during the meeting. He added, “We have specified funds for Basra regarding the water issue and a complete plan to provide potable water,” He explained that high authorized figures trespassed and there is a campaign to hinder it.
