Army Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Abdul Amir Yarallah arrived in Samarra on Tuesday, to continue securing the visit of the martyrdom of Imam Hassan al-Askari (peace be upon him).
"Yarallah has arrived in Samarra district in Salah al-Din province and has overviewed the deployment of security and military forces tasked with securing the visit of the martyrdom of Imam Hassan al-Askari," the media office of the army chief of staff said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"Yarallah followed up with the Imam Hassan al-Askary hollyshrine its security requirements, and how the procedures for receiving visitors to the holy city of Samarra are going," he said, directing "the commander of Samarra operations and military commanders to make all efforts to ensure protection to all visitors."
