Detachments of National Security Service in Nineveh arrested on Friday 25 terrorists in the province.
"After obtaining judicial approvals based on intelligence and accurate qualitative operations that lasted for several days, the National Security Service arrested (25) Daesh terrorists, acting as fighters, within the so-called states of Nineveh, Dijla, Al Jazeera and Salahuddine," said a statement from the Security Media Cell received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"The statements of the accused were written down, after they confessed to committing crimes against citizens, as well as confronting and targeting security forces with improvised explosive devices during liberation battles, and all of them were referred to the competent legal authorities for fair action against them," the statement said.
The statement continued, "The National Security service renews its pledge to move forward in strengthening security system, and to make every effort against anyone who tries to harm the country and disturb its stability."
