The Dhi Qar Security Directorate announced today, Thursday, that it had thwarted an attempt to smuggle archaeological manuscripts consisting of the Torah and the Bible books dating back to a long time.
Dhi Qar police said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "based on accurate information, the Dhi Qar Security Directorate was able to arrest the 35-year-old suspect, who lives in Suq Al-Shuyoukh district / Garmat Hassan." .
He added, "He was seized in his possession of archaeological manuscripts consisting of the Torah and Bible books in the Hebrew language inside an antique box with a six-pointed star on it."
The police department pointed out that "a fundamentalist seizure report was organized and the necessary legal measures were taken against the accused, and he was referred, along with the investigative papers, to the court, and it was decided to arrest him to complete the investigation."
