Al-Kadhimi directs the formation of an investigation committee in Kirkuk

    The Prime Minister directed the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, to form an investigative committee into the security breaches in Kirkuk.

    The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), today, Sunday, that "the Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, chaired an emergency meeting of the National Security Council, during which recent security developments were discussed, and the development of effective mechanisms was discussed." To prevent the recurrence of security breaches in Kirkuk governorate.

    He added, "At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Kadhimi offered his condolences to the sons of the armed forces and the families of the victims who were martyred today in Kirkuk Governorate.".

    Al-Kadhimi stressed, according to the statement, the weak capabilities of the enemy, but mismanagement and sometimes negligence in the work of military leaders lead to some violations, stressing the importance of developing new mechanisms to avoid the recurrence of security incidents, 
    He stressed the need to activate the role of the intelligence services, and to find effective coordination mechanisms between the various security and military institutions to avoid violations. 

    The Prime Minister also directed the formation of the central committee to investigate these violations and prevent their recurrence, stressing that the Kirkuk governorate is characterized by its diversity, and there are those who seek to create sedition, especially as we are heading to fateful elections.
