The Security Media Cell announced, today, Friday, that it thwarted an attempt to infiltrate 7 people across the border berm between Iraq and Syria in the Um
m al-Khabari area.
The cell stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "through continuous follow-up and scrutiny, a force from the Third Regiment of the 72nd Brigade was able to monitor a group of 7 people trying to cross the border berm between Iraq and Syria in the Um al-Khabari area."
The statement added, "The force began to move immediately and throw at them, and they fled towards Syrian territory, and the force began searching the area and found 19 guns left by the smugglers after they fled," noting that "the seized items were dealt with fundamentally."
