The US Department of Defense (Pentagon),announced on Friday, sending additional troops to Afghanistan to help evacuations of American diplomats.
"The forces will be tasked with providing security for US diplomats during the evacuations," said State Department spokesman John Kirby, adding that "US forces will transport the diplomats from the embassy to Kabul airport by air.".
He pointed out that "3,000 soldiers will arrive in Afghanistan at the end of the week to secure the withdrawal process."
