Counter-Terrorism Service – CTS revealed implementing a strategy against the remnants of Daesh terrorist gangs, while confirming the existence of an intelligence coordination cell under its leadership to hunt terrorism.
“Counter-terrorism is continuing its operations to pursue the remnants of terrorism, according to information and intelligence analysis, as well as mapping the movements of terrorists in the areas where they are still present," said the spokesman for CTS, Sabah al-Numan, to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Al-Numan added, "There is follow-up by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, and direct supervision by the Counter-Terrorism Service on security operations against the remnants of Daesh terrorist gangs,"
"There is a joint intelligence coordination cell headed by the agency, to exchange information between the various intelligence departments in the security services to hunt terrorism, in addition to the existence of high-level coordination with the Kurdistan region, especially in the recent operation that witnessed dismantling "Qaqaa" battalion, which took place in cooperation with Sulaymaniyah ‘Asayish’", he noted.
Al-Numan also indicated that "CTS is implementing the Iraqi strategy to combat terrorism that it approved and launched at the beginning of this year, in addition to the existence of programs and plans that emerged from that strategy, and the concerned departments will begin implementing them against the remnants of Daesh,"
