Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed the ongoing preparations for holding the regional conference.
Al-Kadhimi received on Monday, a phone call from Macron where they discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as the current regional situation and international updates, according to a statement by the media office of the Prime Minister, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The two sides discussed the ongoing preparations for holding a regional conference, which will be hosted by Iraq at the end of this month, that was coordinated to be held in cooperation with France,"
Al-Kadhimi stressed that "France is a real partner for Iraq, and that the two countries have a long history of constructive relations, which we seek to develop in various fields,"
For his part, the French President announced his "full support for Iraq and the Prime Minister in his approach and measures to strengthen the Iraqi state institutions," praising "the balanced Iraqi diplomacy, led by PM Al-Kadhimi, and its contribution to consolidating the foundations of peace and stability,"
Macron also confirmed his aspiration to “visit Iraq and attend the conference,”
