Ministry of Health – MOH warned on Wednesday, that Iraq has entered the most dangerous epidemic wave after detecting the highest increase number of COVID-19 new cases.
"Unfortunately, Iraq recorded an unprecedented number of new cases with the pandemic that reached 13515," said the spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Saif Al-Badr, to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He added that the ministry “is not surprised by the increase, as it has warned in advance and directly in the media for weeks and months that this epidemic comes in the form of waves,"
"Non-compliance will inevitably lead to the occurrence of an epidemic outbreak that may be more dangerous for citizens," Al-Badr noted that, "Iraq is now going through an epidemic wave that is more dangerous than before, and the percentage of severe cases currently is the most compared to previous waves,"
Al-Badr indicated that "health institutions are facing great pressure due to the number of dormant cases that need special and critical care," stressing that "health staff is doing everything they can to serve the people of the country,"
