Today, Wednesday, the General Secretariat of Council Ministers announced the details of development of the Ur city project. The secretariat said in a statement that the government delegation conducted, today, Wednesday, a field visit to the ancient city of Ur in Dhi Qar Governorate, to follow up the implementation of the primary recommendations of the committee supervising on the city development project.
The delegation was briefed on the mechanisms of initiating the city development project in terms of infrastructure and important archaeological facilities as a first stage, and determining the basic design for the ancient and new cities to be established within the work stages of the project, which will include the establishment of a reception center for visitors, the establishment of a network of roads, tourist facilities and places of worship.
