The First Deputy Speaker Mr. Hassan Karim Al Kaabi confirmed that the British Serco Company does not provide any service to the Iraqi air navigation.
Al-Kaabi said in the Dinar show on Iraqia official state TV that the parliament pays great attention to the issue of Iraqi air navigation, pointing out that there are several meetings held with the attendance of the Air Navigation Company, as they clarified that there is a contract concluded with the British Serco Company, amounting to $25 million annually.
He added that the British company did not provide any service to the Iraqi state, but it was providing the contracts In violation and is unrealistic way, noting that the Iraqi Air Navigation Company, which is more than 75 years old, is the one that manages the air navigation by distinguished, efficient and patriotic Iraqi cadres who receive their salaries from the Iraqi state not from Serco.
Al-Kaabi also continued that despite the pandemic conditions and the lack of air movement across Iraq and the world, The Iraqi Company was able to increase the number of airplanes that navigate into Iraqi airspace, while the British company didn’t increase even one additional plane.
We held a meeting with the representative of the prime minister to inquire about the contract with British company, Al-Kaabi added.
