Security Media Cell announced the arrest of 9 wanted persons in the Basra Governorate. The cell stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the security forces within the Basra Operations Command were able to arrest 9 wanted persons for the judiciary," noting that (3) of them are accused of drugs smuggling and alcoholic beverages.
The statement added that the security forces also managed to seize 11 different rifles, three hand grenades and various types of ammunition, noting that "a joint force was able to arrest one of the most important criminals in Al- Zubair district of Basra governorate. The statement confirmed, "The detainee is wanted by the judiciary according to criminal and terrorist clauses, and he was arrested after chasing for a long time by the security forces.
