A statement by the Supreme Judicial Council, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the representative of the President of the Supreme Judicial Council met yesterday with a number of representatives of the demonstrations at the headquarters of the Council and listened to their demands."
The statement added, "The representative of the President of the Council promised to take appropriate measures in matters falling within the jurisdiction of the Judicial Council.
