    National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji stressed today, Monday,  that cooperation with NATO falls within the framework of the need to develop the training side.

    The media office of the National Security Adviser said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Araji received in his official office the commander of the new NATO mission in Iraq, Lieutenant-General Michael Lollesgaard, and during the meeting the two sides discussed the mission's work and its training tasks in Iraq, which are related to developing the training capabilities of the forces. Iraqi counseling. "

    Al-Araji explained, according to the statement, that "the Iraqi forces have made great strides in the field of combat experience," noting that "cooperation with NATO falls within the framework of the need to develop the training aspect, which is an important factor to strengthen the capabilities of the security forces and keep abreast of developments in this field."

    For his part, "the new NATO mission commander gave a briefing on the mission's work and its specific tasks," stressing that "there is no combat force inside Iraq, and that the mission's work is limited to training and advisory tasks, within the framework of cooperation between Iraq and NATO to support the capabilities of the Iraqi forces in counseling and training."
