The governor of Dhi Qar, Ahmed Al-Khafaji, announced today, Friday, the mechanism of the governorate's administration plans, while confirming the re-formation of committees to investigate the killers of the demonstrators and uncover the absentees of the province.
Al-Khafaji said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Honest committees have been reconstituted to investigate the killers of the demonstrators and to uncover the absentees of the province in cooperation with the judiciary to reach satisfactory results."
He added that "the plans of the Dhi Qar administration are to meet the urgent needs of citizens, establish security and consolidate community peace, as well as initiate strategic projects that include all the cities and villages of the province," noting that "there is an urgent, medium and long-term plan to provide services to the citizens of Dhi Qar."
He stressed that "a specialized advisory team has been formed to manage these plans and supervise their implementation, as well as to initiate medium-term and strategic projects," noting that "the budget allocated to the governorate is insufficient to implement all projects and there are previous commitments on the governorate to companies and contractors for previous projects."
He continued, "The budget announced as one trillion and 300 billion is, in fact, the total of the funds that include the operating budget, which amounts to 900 billion, and the remaining 300 billion for the Dhi Qar reconstruction fund, and there is another 300 billion, so the amount allocated for reconstruction and development in Dhi Qar is 600 billion dinars." Plus the petrodollar sums. "
