The Parliamentary Education Committee confirmed that there is a tendency to convert the study curricula from paper to electronic.
The head of the committee, Deputy Qusay Al-Yasiri, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Corona virus has greatly affected the education sector in our country, in addition to the lack of school buildings which was one of the reasons for suspending work hours due to the increase in numbers in one school and one classroom." "The current e-learning does not meet the requirements of the educational process in delivering the curriculum materials in the required manner."
He added that "the committee hosted the Minister of Education and the advanced staff in the ministry in order to discuss the topic of converting the curriculum from paper to digital," noting that "a committee was formed to study the subject in depth and take a decision regarding it."
Al-Yasiri added that "the details of the proposal are through converting the curriculum from paper to digital through an electronic program, and all curriculum materials and everything related to the school and the student's card are entered into this program, and students are handed tablet devices that contain the curriculum and study materials," indicating that " It is possible to work on this type of education in person or remotely when there is any obstacle to attending work hours, as happened in these two years, and there are many developed countries that use this type of education.
