Minister of Justice Salar Abdul Sattar discussed with the US Ambassador to Baghdad Matthew Tueller the recovery of Iraqi antiquities.
The media of the Ministry of Justice said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Justice Minister Salar Abdul Sattar discussed with the US Ambassador to Baghdad Matthew Tueller aspects of joint cooperation between the two countries, especially in the legal fields and ways to activate them in the near future."
During his meeting with the US ambassador, Abdul Sattar referred to "the depth of bilateral and strategic relations between Baghdad and Washington," noting "the importance of continuing joint cooperation and providing support to strengthen the human rights system and the justice sector."
The two sides also discussed the importance of agreeing to take procedures for judicial notifications in US courts, as well as seeking to retrieve and return Iraqi antiquities that date back to different eras of the Mesopotamian civilization.
