Ministry spokesman Saif Al-Badr told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The first batch of AstraZeneca vaccine arrived in Iraq today, and it is 336 thousand doses out of 16 million doses that will arrive in succession," indicating that "this vaccine was contracted with the Kovacs facility under the supervision of the organization." He added, "Iraq has signed a contract for the Chinese vaccine, Sinfar, with 2 million doses, and the Russian Sputnik V with one million doses, in addition to Pfizer with 3 million doses."
Al-Badr renewed his call for citizens to "register via the electronic application launched by the Ministry of Health to ensure access to the vaccine, as a text message arrives on the phone to specify the time and place to take the vaccine."
