Nowruz is one of the most prominent occasions and festivals celebrated by different peoples and nationalities in the world, and in Iraq in particular.
On the twenty-first of March of each year, an official holiday is declared in all state departments, and Iraqis with their various components celebrate this occasion, especially the Kurdish people, who open up to the magic of the picturesque nature that attracts many citizens from different governorates of Iraq to celebrate Nowruz.
The word (Nowruz) has roots in the ancient book of Apestia, as the word consists of two syllables: (Ava), which means (new), and the second syllable (Oza), which means (morning light).
