European Commission intends to purchase 300 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine

The European Commission decided to acquire an additional 300 million doses of the Pfizer biontech vaccine to cover its needs to vaccinate 80% of the population of European Union countries.

 "The European Commission has proposed today to European Union member states to purchase 200 million additional doses of the vaccine produced by" Biontech and Pfizer ", with the possibility of acquiring 100 million doses, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, said in a statement today.  This brings the level of stockpile of the "Pfizer / Biontech" vaccine, which the European Union wants to have, to 600 million doses.
