Security leaders reveal details of events occurred during the protests

Security leaders revealed the details of the events that accompanied the first anniversary of the start of October Revolution.

"The security forces continue to perform their duty to protect the demonstrators and public and private property," said the spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool at the joint security conference attended by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), noting that "hundreds of Molotov were thrown at the security forces,"

Rasool added, "The security forces are committed to preserving the lives of citizens," calling on "the demonstrators to cooperate with the security forces and not leave the demonstration squares,"

He indicated that dozens of security forces were injured by throwing Molotov," explaining that "there is no firearm in the forces assigned to protect the demonstrators,"

Rasool considered targeting the security forces by groups is “a bad message to the world”

For his part, the Director of Media Office at the Ministry of Interior, Major General Saad Maan, confirmed that the security forces were disciplined and dealt wisely with the demonstrators, revealing that "141 accused of trespassers of the security forces have been arrested in their possession of a number of drugs and weapons,"

He continued, "The security forces arrested a group that attacked the medical staff," warning "of rumors aimed at disturbing the relationship between the security forces and the demonstrators,"

He pointed out that the security forces sensed a great response from the activists present in the demonstration squares.

On the other hand, the spokesman for the Joint Operations Command, Major General Tahsin Al-Khafaji, confirmed that "the armed forces are working according to the directions of the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces to protect vital installations, including banks and airports," indicating that "46 of the Special Division forces were injured during the violence, including two officers,"

He added that "1500 Molotov have been used against the security forces since yesterday until now," noting that "it is unfortunate that some shops were stolen by infiltrators,"

Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Saif Al-Badr, announced that "more than 200 were wounded from the security forces and were received during the violence that accompanied the protests,"

He indicated that "the number of injured civilians did not exceed 40 people, all of them have minor wounds,"
