The Secretary-General of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, Muhammad Barikando, praised today, Friday, the distinguished efforts of the Ministry of Oil and the Supreme Committee organizing the "OPEC" celebration.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Oil, Assem Jihad, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail had received a letter from the Secretary-General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Muhammad Barikando in which he expressed his great appreciation to the Minister of Oil and the organizing committee for Their eagerness to prepare a distinct curriculum befitting the occasion, as well as the success in rehabilitating the People's Hall in Baghdad in record time, which was the hall that hosted the organization’s first founding meeting in 1960.
Jihad added that Barikendo affirmed the organization’s keenness to hold the celebration in Baghdad due to its great role in its establishment and the historical importance of this occasion.
