The President of the Vatican, Pope Francis, sent a video message to the Iraqi people prior to his visit to Iraq.
Pope Francis said in his video message followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Iraqis, I long to visit your land, the cradle of the ancient and amazing civilization. You are all brothers, motivated by the desire to pray and walk together."
He added, "I have thought of all of you throughout these years, let us fill us with hope for reconstruction and start again," stressing that "during the pandemic period, let us help each other and build together a peaceful future."
Pope Francis is scheduled to arrive on Friday, March 5, 2021, to Iraq for a 3-day official visit.
