Minister of Water Resources, Mahdi Rasheed Al-Hamdani, affirmed Iraq keenness to negotiate with Turkey to ensure Iraq's water share.
Al-Hamdani chaired the regular meeting of the Opinion Board in the presence of the administrative agent, experts, general managers and specialists in the ministry and its formations to discuss a number of important issues on the agenda, according to a statement by the media office of the minister received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He emphasized the ministry’s keenness to negotiate and hold meetings with the Turkish side and discuss the cooperation protocol, the joint research center, the ministry’s work strategy, and a set of important matters that will be discussed with the Turkish side to reach an understanding that guarantees Iraq's water share.
Al-Hamdani stressed the necessity of securing the salaries of contracts and daily wage-earners continuing to serve after the ministry, in cooperation and coordination with the Ministries of Finance and Planning, to pay all their financial dues for the previous years in two installments.
