MOH: COVID-19 vaccine amount does not effect recovery rates

Ministry of Health - MOH confirmed that the amount of the COVID-19 vaccine is not related to the recovery rates of the virus.

"Iraq response to COVID-19 has been rapid since the beginning of the pandemic and there are advanced leaps that have been achieved in the therapeutic and diagnostic field," said MOH spokesman Saif Al-Badr in a statement to Al-Iraqiya News TV, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

He indicated that "Iraq needs emergency health measures. Among of which is the vaccine, which was chosen by the National Medicines Authority,"

"The amount of the vaccine is not related to the rates of recovery," added Al-Badr, "the high risk categories (health staff, security forces, the elderly, and people with immune imbalances) have priority in the deliverance of the vaccine.

He pointed out that "the idea of ​​immunization and vaccination is that a percentage of the population has immunity and the ability to fight disease, especially since there are challenges to health institutions such as the new strain and other epidemic waves, immunization and commitment to preventive measures must be taken,"

"A million and a half doses of the vaccine have been contracted with Pfizer, and there are other contracts with Pfizer and other companies producing the vaccine," he stressed that "all imported vaccines are subject to health standards,"
