The Ministry of Water Resources confirmed today, Sunday, that putting the dams under control has taken place, as it is ready to receive any additional quantities of water.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Water Resources, Awni Dhiab, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The torrents covered most of Diyala and some valleys that border Iraq from the eastern side with Iran, and water is received in the Shuweijah Hill in Wasit."
He explained, "The quantities of water are not measured until now because of their continued flow."He stressed, "The development of dams in Iraq is excellent and safe, and we are fully prepared to face torrents and rains before the rain wave due to the weather forecast."
