The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Al-Badawi, stressed today, Friday, the Lebanese leadership's keenness to implement necessary reforms.
Al-Badawi said in a press conference during his visit to Beirut, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Gulf Cooperation Council countries affirm their support for the Lebanese government, strengthening relations with Lebanon, supporting Lebanon's sovereignty, stability and territorial integrity, and the necessity of carrying out political reforms, implementing Security Council resolutions regarding Lebanon, and ensuring the protection of its territory and sovereignty."
He added that "the Cooperation Council also affirms its support for the Lebanese army, rejects the repeated Zionist attacks on Lebanon, and calls for the withdrawal of Zionist forces from all Lebanese territories, because achieving security and stability in Lebanon is important for the stability of the region," stressing "the support of the Council countries for forming a new government that meets the aspirations of the Lebanese people."
