President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid confirmed today, Friday, that Iraq is stable and has great internal and external capabilities for investors and does not accept any external interference.

The President of the Republic said in a television interview followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Investors come to Iraq from all over the world, from Europe, from Arab countries and in a good way, from China, Britain, and America, they come and see the current situation in Iraq, a stable Iraq, and an Iraq with great capabilities and internal and external capabilities for investors."

He added: "I am happy with the development in the Kurdistan Region, and at the same time I visited a number of governorates in the south, west and north of Iraq, and the development that has occurred in the governorates in terms of services and infrastructure, as well as people's livelihood is joyful, and these are all related to the presence of security and stability, as the investor always tries to meet in a place where security and stability prevail."

He pointed out that: "The oil problem in the Kurdistan Region, and the relationship of oil production in the region with the center are linked to the failure to pass the oil and gas law, and we hope that the law will be voted on in the House of Representatives so that it will be part of the solution to the problems existing on oil between the region and the center," stressing that "in general, the relationship between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government in Baghdad is a normal relationship."

Regarding foreign affairs, the President of the Republic said: "Iraq's relationship with Iran is strong, and we have not seen any military interventions in our lands, and so far the Iranian position is the position of a neighboring country, and in Iraq our independence is more important than anything, and we do not accept any foreign interference in Iraq, and we care about our independence, and according to the Iraqi constitution, Iraq is an independent state, and our system is democratic, and we have a parliament, and we have a Council of Ministers, and we have the presidency of the republic, and the decisions in these institutions in the Iraqi state are taken in partnership with the political parties present in parliament."

He continued: “We hope that US President Donald Trump, as he has expressed his opinion many times through statements, will end the wars in the region and the world, and solve the problems between countries,” indicating: “We are with the aspirations of the Syrian people, and we have tried many times to help the Syrian people, and at some times we tried to offer advice to former President Bashar al-Assad, but unfortunately, he did not take advantage of our advice, nor the circumstances that came to solve the problem of Syria.”
